by Ali Hazelwood
Absence makes the heart grow… colder? I mean everything is cold in the Arctic, but Hannah’s heart is ice when it comes to Ian. Well, that’s at least what she tells herself. What happened with these two? Let’s find out!
Read if you like: STEM romance, Novellas, Contemporary romance, found family, slow burn, second chances, sweet and stoic guys, sarcastic and smart girls who are too focused on themselves to find love… right?
NASA is a dream job for so many people and Hannah made it her only focus and finally landed the job. But now that she’s arrived, a blast from her past starts blocking her path to success. Luckily, she doesn’t think much about Ian, or his rare smirks, or freckles… much… only in her vivid, frequent, dreams.
But after her Arctic expedition goes figuratively south (she’s actually rather north, relatively speaking) there’s only one person who is coming to her rescue. And she has so, so many questions… and she wants answers if they both survive.
Whew. I love Ali Hazelwood. If you don’t, that’s cool, I guess. Maybe you’re here to widen your perspective… it better not be for hate. Cause that’s just sad and disappointing. Don’t make me use my mom face…
Anywho… if you loved any of her books you will love this. She has her things: Huge, silent, men paired with small, smart, and sassy ladies for instance. Slow burn with a dash of spice… except this one is a bit different. And without giving too much away, I like the set up of this one a lot. It gave it a fun anticipatory feel that was different to her sister novellas. Also, I’m a sucker for girls with commitment issues. And, freckles. Shy, freckled men… yeah that *totally doesn’t* describe my husband. I’m not biased, at all. The actual danger was an entertaining deviation from her usual format and the lead up to the ending was great. I had all the feels.
Basically, Below Zero was just what I wanted… other than a more pages. And the guy’s POV. I would pay so much money for all of these dudes’ POVs. But again, I’m greedy like that. I await the copy for my shelf in 2023.
