Malach and Nikola have made it to safety, even though safety is relevant in Bal Kirith and the surrounding jungles. Their child might change the fate of the world, but can they flee the crumbling city without suspicion? Their biggest obstacle might be acknowledging their ever-evolving feelings and convictions for each other and the fight for the ley.
And where are our escaped invertidos heading with such great determination?
If the first book was great then this book was amazing! The many plots and pacing of each were so good
and the way they would overlap and intertwine was so fun to experience. I love a book with compelling characters on both sides of a conflict. Everything felt very solid and grounded, any of the rushed feelings I got from City of Storms were resolved. I could gush. I love all the settings. We go from rustic villages to desolate artic landscapes; from lush jungles to bustling city streets alive with all the modern conveniences. We have new mysteries to solve on all sides. Most exciting of all is everyone’s journey in understanding that the greatest truth of the ley and human nature have been hidden… and it’s up to them to uncover. I also love the romance between Kasia and Alexi. Their spicy slow burn connection is building into something quite formidable.
I cannot wait to begin reading City of Keys!
